Motherly Love knows no bound and without limit

It is the month of December, where many people are now going on their year-end holidays. Perhaps, some have already gone and returned to work just like me, who just returned from attending my daughter's graduation ceremony down Under.

It was just recently, that I had several discussions about children's education, how expensive it is nowadays and how parents had to work through the years to see their hard-earned money just vanished in the couple of years for the sake of children's education. And then, there were some who would just refused to spend their so-called retirement money. It just makes one wonders that as parent, how far would one go to support his own child.

The following story was circulated recently, and I would like to share this with you.

Send it to the kids.....

My mom only had one eye. I hated her.... she was such an embarrassment.
She cooked for students & teachers to support the family.

There was this one day during elementary school where my mom came to say hello to me.

I was so embarrassed.

How could she do this to me?
I ignored her, threw her a hateful look and ran out.
The next day at school one of my classmates said, 'EEEE, your mom only has one eye!'

I wanted to bury myself.
I also wanted my mom to just disappear.
I confronted her that day and said, ' If you're only goanna make me a laughing stock, why don't you just die?'

My mom did not respond...
I didn't even stop to think for a second about what I had said, because I was full of anger.
I was oblivious to her feelings.

I walked out of that house, and have nothing to do with her.
So I studied real hard, got a chance to go abroad to study..
Then, I got married.
I bought a house of my own.
I had kids of my own.
I was happy with my life, my kids and the comforts, Then one day, my
mother came to visit me.
She hadn't seen me in years and she didn't even meet her grandchildren.

When she stood by the door, my children laughed at her, and I yelled at her for coming over uninvited.
I screamed at her, 'How dare you come to my house and scare my children!'
GET OUT OF HERE! NOW!!!'

And to this, my mother quietly answered, 'Oh, I'm so sorry. I may have gotten the wrong address,' and she disappeared out of sight.
One day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house.

So I lied to my wife that I was going on a business trip.
After the reunion, I went to the old shack just out of curiosity.
My neighbors said that she died.
I did not shed a single tear.
They handed me a letter that she had wanted me to have.

'My dearest son,
I think of you all the time. I'm sorry that I came to your house and
scared your children.
I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion.
But I may not be able to even get out of bed to see you.
I'm sorry that I was a constant embarrassment to you when you were
growing up.

You see........when you were very little, you got into an accident, and
lost your eye.
As a mother, I couldn't stand watching you
having to grow up with one eye.
So I gave you mine.
I was so proud of my son who was seeing a whole new world for me, in my place, with that eye.

With all my love to you,
Your mother.

Such is the greatest sacrifice for the love of her own child. Love is beautiful, yet frigthening at time from the perspective of what one is willing to do and sacrifice. While the story tells of a child growing up, the same applies when one tries to give up whatever necessary just to ensure the love one remains happy. We sometimes only know how to take, and keep on taking at the expense of our love ones as in our daily routine, our daily lives. We may not realise this, but it is happening.

So, what do we do now? Always tell someone that you love that you love them because you never know what day will be their last, or your own.

Also, always seek to resolve your problems or disagreements with loved ones because if either of you should pass on before, the one who is left alive will have the rest of their life to ponder those unresolved feelings but will never find closure. And only with closure that one usually find peace.

Heart Attack - the oriental ways to prevention and recognition

Different culture has different way of behavior and habit in consuming their food. The Chinese for example, has for years stressed the preference for warm soup or drinks for their tea or plain water especially after eating the meal. Behind the practice, there has been various reasons and belief that drove them to adopt such practice.

However, such beliefs are now being held by the elders and perhaps some younger ones. But the majority of the younger generations have adopted and followed the western ways. The following advice, although not specifically stated to be from the Chinese, nevertheless offers one similar advice.

Prevent Heart Attacks by drinking warm water instead of cold water.

This is a very good article. Not only about the warm water after your meal, but about heart attacks. This makes sense.. the Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals...not cold water...maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!!

Nothing to lose, everything to gain...

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks: You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.

You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive...

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this mail sends it to 10 people, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life. Read this...It could save your life!!

~~~~~~
Well, there is no harm in knowing a little bit more. While this may not totally prevent one from suffering a heart attack, but it may well slow down the process. As the saying goes, prevention is better than cure. So drink your cold drink not with your meal, but long before or after the meal.
Economy down- turn, tips to save money on petrol usage
The economy is bad, with almost all the big economies reporting an imminent recession or negative growth. As a result, household income is affected and outlook is extremely bleak. So every household needs to be vigilant in their expenditure. While petrol prices has dropped to around USD50 per barrel compared to about USD 150 barely 4 months ago, prices of petrol as well as expenditure on petrol remains high to everyone on the street.
The following Tips on Filling up your Vehicles provides good advices on when and how to fill up your tank to maximise value. So the next time round your car pull up at the petrol kiosk, do consider the following tips.
This is a Message received from a friend:
I don't know what you guys are paying for petrol... but here in Durban, we are also paying higher, up to 47.35 per litre. But my line of work is in petroleum for about 31 years now, so here are some tricks to get more of your money's worth for every litre.
Here at the Marian Hill Pipeline, where I work in Durban, we deliver about 4 million litres in a 24-hour period through the pipeline.
One day is diesel; the next day is jet fuel, and petrol, LRP and Unleaded. We have 34-storage tanks here with a total capacity of 16,800,000 litres.
ONLY BUY OR FILL UP YOUR CAR OR BIKKIE IN THE EARLY MORNING WHEN THE GROUND TEMPERATURE IS STILL COLD. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground, the denser the fuel, when it gets warmer petrol expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening.... your litre is not exactly a litre.
In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the petrol, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products play an important role. A 1 degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps.
WHEN YOU'RE FILLING UP, DO NOT SQUEEZE THE TRIGGER OF THE NOZZLE TO A FAST MODE. If you look, you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: Low, Middle, and High. In slow mode, you should be pumping on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapours that are created, while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapour return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapour. Those vapours are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money.
ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT TIPS IS TO FILL UP WHEN YOUR TANK IS HALF FULL. The reason for this is, the more fuel you have in your tank, the less air occupying its empty space. Petrol evaporates faster than you can imagine. Petroleum storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the petrol and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation.
Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated, so that every litre is actually the exact amount.
ANOTHER REMINDER, IF THERE IS A FUEL TRUCK PUMPING INTO THE STORAGE TANKS, WHEN YOU STOP TO BUY, DO NOT FILL UP - most likely the petrol/diesel is being stirred up as the fuel is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom.
Hope, this will help you get the maximum value for your money.
DO SHARE THESE TIPS WITH OTHERS! LET’S SHARE INFORMATION AND BENEFIT ALL, FOR THE BETTER OF MANKIND.
***********************
Well, you now know this. There is no harm in following this, just re-adjusting our habit of filling up the petrol tank. Let's spread this round to maximise the dollar.
Treating Cancer - Healing through the natural way of control diet
I find the following experience very relevant in today's world where many people are afflicted with cancer at some point in time. For those that have the means and fortune to have it cured, I am happy for them. But out of one that is successful in seeking the cure, I believe there are many others who have to learn to live the agony of the remaining days. This came through the email, and I am not sure anyone can attest to the validity and I must say that I cannot verify the truth in this. But as this calls for only keeping a strict diet to avoid certain food, I would encourage one to still follow the advice of his doctors, but perhaps to give serious consideration whether to follow the diet as stated, when all hope is lost. The story is a bit long and more so with the chinese interpretations, but for the benefit of all, I would reproduce them in full as follows;
Under weakly alkaline condition, cancerous cells will not be able to grow, or even to survive.
在弱鹼性體質的態下,癌細胞是無法生長、甚至是無法生存的。
Actual case studies, very important, please read patiently and pass this on.
實案例,很重要,請耐心看完,請轉寄哦!!
Even if you have read this before, you should reread this, especially the list of acidic and alkaline food stuff , best to read several time and remembered.
即使看過了還是要再看,尤其下面的酸鹼性食物最好多看幾次,就可以記住了
Please read this article in full patiently, it will be helpful to your health.
請耐心看完這篇文章,對自身健康很有幫助
More that 30 years ago, a Mr Zhang who work in the public sale department of a Taipei Brewery, participated in the brewery overseas study selection examination, and passed with flying colours.
三十多年前有一位服務於公賣局台北啤酒廠的張先生,參加該啤酒場選派技術人員到國外深造的考試,以優異的成績及格。
Before going overseas during the physical examination at a public hospital, it was discovered that he has a tumour growth in his lung of the size of a child's fist, and therefore was not able to go overseas to study.
在出國前經某公立醫院體檢發現,罹患有像小孩拳頭大小的肺部腫瘤,因而不能出國。
The greatly disappointed Mr Zhang has always been suspicious that the diagnosis was wrong. So he went to another hospital for a check-up, the result confirm that previous diagnosis was not in error.
張先生非常失望之餘,一直懷疑診斷有誤;於是再到另一家醫院檢,結果還是證實原來的診斷並無錯誤。
For the youthful and healthy Mr Zhang to be stricken down with such terminal illness, in his despair, he rang his old class mate who at the time was Taidong County Government, Huangsun County Mayor's secretary, Mr Wei
當時年輕力壯的張先生得到這樣的症,在人生望之餘,多次打電話給當時任職台東縣政府順興縣長機要秘書的魏姓同學。
Mr Weil rushed to Taipei during his rest day on a Sunday to see Mr Zhang.
魏姓同學便利用星期日趕到台北和張先生見面,
Mr Zhang discussed with Mr Wei in details his despair and pessimism, and entrusted his friend regarding his affairs after his death. Coincidentally, Mr Wei was a good friend of Dr Lu Geling, who was in charge of the Maijie Hospital, 1945-55, and specialised in the clinical research into cancer cases.
張先生向魏同學詳述相關望的詳情和悲觀感受,並請位同學協助其後事,恰逢魏同學與前任馬偕醫院院長194955年專精於癌症臨床研究的呂革令博士係知交好友。
He immediately suggested that Mr Zhang went and see Dr Lu for treatment. At first, Mr Zhang said he preferred not to see anymore doctors, so as to add further to his misery.
當即建議前往訪求呂博士醫治,起初張先生不願再看醫生,以免徒增傷悲;
But Mr Wei told him that he had telephone Dr Lu before to seek his advice and arrange an appointment. Mr Zhang felt obligated and went with Mr Wei to meet Dr Lu.
但魏同學先前已以電話請教過呂博士並安排好時間,張先生只好偕同前往呂博士住處造訪。
When Dr Lu met with Mr Zhang, Dr Lu said: " Mr Wei is a friend and introduce you and I to get to know each other. This is destiny. Thank you. Let me ask you do you know why is cancer referred to as terminal illness?"
呂博士和張先生見面就:「魏先生是我的好友,介紹你和我認識是我們份,感謝。我請教你:『癌為什麼叫症,你可知道嗎?』」
Both Mr Zhang and Mr Wei did not how to answer.
張先生和魏先生都不知道如何作答。
Dr Lu explained: "There are only two approaches taken by human to treat cancer to date. The first is to destroy the source of the disease. The second is the increase the capability to fight the disease.
呂博士又:「人類醫治癌症到目前為止只有兩條路,第一條路是消滅病源,第二條路是增加抵抗力。
But the strange thing is that, cancer whether we use Cobalt 60 or other drug to destroy the cancer cells, however, before the cancer cells are killed, the good cells are destroyed first.
但很奇怪的是,癌無論用鈷60或其他藥物去消滅癌細胞,可是癌細胞還沒被消滅,好的細胞卻先被殺死。
On the other hand, no matter we use what nutrients or supplements, before the good cells have a chance to absorb them, the cancer cells have taken them up and it simply speeds up the grow of cancer.
另無論用什麼營養、補藥,好的細胞還未吸收,癌細胞卻先吸收、讓癌長得更快;
Therefore both approaches are doomed to failure, that is why cancer is terminal."
因此可上述兩條路都行不通、所以叫症。」
Dr Lu continues: "Human being is most clever, they have successfully landed on the moon. But why is it no one ever question the above two approaches for treating cancer
are nothing but self defeating dead-ends, try to seek out a third avenue?
呂博士又:「人類的聰明連登陸月球也都已經成功,但為什麼沒有人去懷疑上述兩條治癌的路是在鑽牛角尖,另外找第三條路?
When I was conducting clinical research in Majie Hospital, I had many opportunities to work with and being helped by many colleagues in the Hospital. I discovered that the blood tests of 100% of the cancer patients showed that the blood sample are acidic.
我以往在馬偕醫院做癌症床實驗,並得院各部同仁協助的機會,我發現癌症病人血液檢的結果百分之百都是酸性反應。
Those Buddhist monks and nuns who are long term vegetarians and live very close to Nature, their blood are prevalently weakly alkaline and amongst them, there has yet to discover any cancer cases
長期素食、且生活接近自然的佛寺僧尼,由於體質都偏屬優質弱鹼性,所以尚沒有發現罹患癌症的病例。
Therefore, I boldly concluded that under weakly alkaline condition, cancer cells are not able to grow, or even to survive.
因此我大膽的斷定在弱鹼性體質的態下,癌細胞是無法生長、甚至是無法生存的。
Mr Zhang, I would suggest that starting from now you reduce your intake of the acidic meaty dishes.
張先生我建議你從現在起少吃酸性的葷食類,
Take more of the alkaline food. In addition you can take green algae and soup made from water chestnuts with shell,
多吃鹼性食物,另外可吃綠藻和帶殼菱角湯,
Modify your physical condition, and try seriously to have a regular life style which is close to Nature;
改變你的體質,並勵行接近自然的良好生活規律;
If you can manage to stay alive for five years, you should have no further problem. I wish you the best of luck."
如果五年不死、你就沒問題了,祝福你。」
Mr Zhang follow Dr Lu's suggestion and seriously alter his eating habits.
張先生依照呂博士的建議,認真改變吃的習慣,
Every day, he ate green algae, drank chestnut soup, be optimistic and doing appropriate amount of exercise, and went back to the same public hospital for a check up. It was discovered that not only that the tumour did not increase in size, on the contrary it showed signs of shrinking, and surprised the hospital staff conducting the check-up as a miracle. Five years later, the tumour s shrunk to such a state as to be almost disappear.
天又吃綠藻、喝菱角湯,樂觀加上天適當的運動,一年後再到同一公立醫院檢結果,發現腫瘤不但沒有長大、反而已呈現萎縮態,遂令醫院檢人員驚為奇蹟,五年後竟完全處於萎縮、至近於消失態。
After almost 40 years, presently Mr Zhang's health is totally normal, and living a very pleasant life.
經過了將近四十年月,現在張先生的健康情況完全正常,生活起居甚為愉快。
Following Mr Zhang, a Mr Chen Tianshou, who was previously Head of the General Administration of the Taidong Provincial Hospital, was similarly diagnosed with lung cancer.
繼張先生之後,有位前台東省立醫院總務課長陳添壽先生,同樣得到肺癌;
When Mr Wei heard of this, he told Mr Chen of the experience of Mr Zhang, and Mr Chen started to follow the instructions of Dr Lu to change his physical condition. The outcome was that he was able to recover fully from the cancer, just like Mr Zhang.
魏先生得知後將張先生的經過轉告陳添壽先生,陳先生乃依照呂博士的建議進行改變體質,結果與張先生同樣癒癌症。
At that time, Mr Lu and his family have emigrated to the United States. After the two cases, he returned to Taiwan and met up with Mr Wei.
那時呂博士全家已移民美國,事後呂博士回來台灣再與魏先生見面時,
Mr Wei told Dr Lu about the experiences of Mr Zhang and Mr Chen, and suggested that let the two of them detailed their experiences to Dr Lu in person, so that Dr Lu could publish a report on his self cure body conditioning method.
魏先生將張先生和陳先生的經過告訴呂博士,並提議由他們倆位親自向呂博士陳述,請呂博士發表其改變體質之自療成果報告。
Dr Lu very humbly replied:
呂博士謙地回答
"I am too old, besides, I do not have any clinical records of the outcomes. I would ask that you tell your friends and relatives, if they are agreeable, then please continue this experience and spread the words … …
「我年事已大,且沒有臨床紀不能做為成果。請魏先生轉告親友,如果友人認同的話,請他們繼續做體驗並廣為宣導.........。」
1.
過度攝取乳酸性食品
a) meat, dairy products, eggs, beef, ham, etc are acidic food
a
)肉類、乳酪製品與蛋、牛肉、火腿等皆屬於酸性食品。
b) taking too much acidic food will cause the blood to become acidic and viscous, difficult to flow to the end of blood vessels, leading to cold feet or knee, stiff shoulders and insomnia.
b)攝取過量的酸性食品血液會傾向酸性而變黏稠,不易流到細血管的末稍,而易造成手或膝蓋的冷寒症,以及肩膀僵硬和失眠等
c) When one is young and strong, taking suitable quantity of meat is appropriate, but older people it more suitable to have a diet which are primarily vegetables or small fish.
c)年輕力壯時吃適量的肉類是對的,但老年人則以蔬菜或小魚為宜。
2. Irregularity in the pace of life will cause the body physical condition to become acidic
I hope the above can be helpful to those in need. Why do we fall sick? And why do we recover for most sickness, but not some. Personally, I have learned and believe that we fall sick when we have done something to bring disharmony to certain elements within our body. Only if we are fortunate enough to encounter something or perhaps someone who is destined to introduce something to restore the harmony of such elements within our body, we will recover. I hope this story is that good encounter to that person. But I do caution - Never, never ignore your doctor's advice and medication - you should only try this in addition to your prescription. Hope this makes your day brighter.
Amazing Thailand Tigers - Even animal Instinct can be tamed
The following story is Extraordinary as shown in the pictures. Don't your think so?
The tiger temple in Thailand is a place where an extraordinary bond between man and the world's biggest cats has been formed.
The tigers here are so peaceful,..its almost as if they have accepted Buddhism as their religion. In fact, they even sit for the meditating
sessions with the monks and kneel down in front of them as if they are the gurus. The tigers are so docile that the monks have to sometimes train them to fight otherwise they would lose all their power of self protection.
The link started in 1999 when a sick baby tiger, orphaned after poachers shot its mother, was brought to the monks. Within a few years several other tiger cubs similarly orphaned by poachers had arrived. The most amazing thing is non of the cubs turned out ferocious on growing up. The monks believer that these tigers are none other than the former Buddhist disciples who have taken rebirth in the same place.
We all thought that animal has its instinct, the animal instinct. More so for the ferocious tiger, its instinct is to kill.
But as the picture shows, even the tiger instinct can be replaced with the human instinct, when nurture correctly and at an early stage.
Looking at the world today, all these senseless killings happening around the globe. More recently, the shocking Mumbai terrorists senseless killings of so many innocents. What has gone into the mind of such people? I am not sure how the minds of such grown-ups can be changed. But certainly, we can start from the young. Only if the people around the world starts nurturing true compassions and true love for the sanctity of life and world peace, we will start seeing the peaceful nature that even the ferocious tigers can become.
When One is on Top of the World - who does one look towards for guidance
The following internet mail that I received probably came as a joke. I think anyone can guess that this probably came from a golf enthusiast, cynical that perhaps we should abandon many things, and go and play golf.
I personally took up golf 17 years ago, and today, I am still far cry from my 24 stroke handicap. Nevertheless, I think that joke aside, there is an important lesson to learn from it. Do read the following anecdote circulated in the web world.
In 1923, Who Was:
1. President of the largest steel company?
2. President of the largest gas company?
3. President of the New York Stock Exchange?
4. Greatest wheat speculator?
5. President of the Bank of International Settlement?
6. Great Bear of Wall Street?
These men were considered some of the world's most successful of their days.
Now, 80 years later, the history book asks us, if we know what ultimately became of them.
The Answers:
1. The president of the largest steel company.
Charles Schwab,
died a pauper.
2. The president of the largest gas company,
Edward Hopson,
went insane.
3. The president of the NYSE,
Richard Whitney,
was released from prison
to die at home.
4. The greatest wheat speculator,
Arthur Cooger,
died abroad, penniless.
5. The president
of the Bank of International Settlement,
shot himself.
6. The Great Bear of Wall Street,
Cosabee Livermore,
also committed suicide
However, in that same year 1923,
the PGA Champion and the winner of the
most important golf tournament,
the US Open, was Gene Sarazen.
What became of him?
He played golf until he was 92,
died in 1999 at the age of 95.
He was financially secure
at the time of his death.
The Moral:
Abandon work,
Play golf.
While we all may envied these very people for their effort to make it to occupying such top stature assuming great power, position, reputation, happiness and success, it is by no means small feat. But what happened to all of them years later? It it is not what one can attained that is important. I think equally important is to be able to sustain and persevere with whatever we have achieved and at least sustain it if we cannot move on to even greater heights. No one can understand the pain and agonies of such people unless one is in similar situation and it pains to see and know of the fate of such great people. One can only sympathize and hope that we do not fall into the same fate. Let us always be on guard.
Things Happened for a Reason - It's not what it seems
Many a times, we as human tend to view things from a very superficial angle. And we tend to intepret and hold a strong opinion in accordance with what we can see. I supposed there is nothing wrong with it except that some times when we hold such a strong view over such matters, and acts accordingly, we may not be fair to the other parties.
When I received this internet story, my initial reaction was yeah, so what. But on deeper reflection, I realise that there is a lot of truth and relevance to living out our own lives. When things and especially unfortunate incidents happened, what do we tend to do?
Let's first read the Internet Story that goes as follows;
(If you do not read Chinese, please bear with this and ignore the chinese characters)
THINGS ARE NOT ALWAYS WHAT THEY SEEM
有些事并不象它看上去那样
Two travelling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansion's guestroom. Instead the angels were given a small space in the cold basement. As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it. When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied, 'Things aren't always what they seem.'
两个旅行中的天使到一个富有的家庭借宿。这家人对他们并不友好,并且拒绝让他们在舒适的客人卧室过夜,而是在冰冷的地下室给他们找了一个角落。当他们铺床时,较老的天使发现墙上有一个洞,就顺手把它修补好了。年轻的天使问为什么,老天使答到:'有些事并不象它看上去那样。'
The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food they had the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good night's rest. When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field? The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel how could you have let this happen? The first man had everything, yet you helped him, she accused. The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and you let the cow die.
第二晚,两人又到了一个非常贫穷的农家借宿。主人夫妇俩对他们非常热情,把仅有的一点点食物拿出来款待客人,然后又让出自己的床铺给两个天使。第二天一早,两个天使发现农夫和他的妻子在哭泣--他们唯一的生活来源,一头奶牛死了。年轻的天使非常愤怒,他质问老天使为什么会这样,第一个家庭什么都有,老天使还帮助他们修补墙洞,第二个家庭尽管如此贫穷还是热情款待客人,而老天使却没有阻止奶牛的死亡。
'Things aren't always what they seem,' the older angel replied. 'When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall. Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn't find it.'
'有些事并不象它看上去那样。'老天使答道,'当我们在地下室过夜时,我从墙洞看到墙里面堆满了金块。因为主人被贪欲所迷惑,不愿意分享他的财富,所以我把墙洞填上了。
'Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed, the angel of death came for his wife. I gave him the cow instead. Things aren't always what they seem.'
'昨天晚上,死亡之神来召唤农夫的妻子,我让奶牛代替了她。所以有些事并不象它看上去那样。'
Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things don't turn out the way they should. If you have faith, you just need to trust that every outcome is always to your advantage. You might not know it until some time later....
有些时候事情的表面并不是它实际应该的样子。如果你有信念,你只需要坚信付出总会得到回报。你可能不会发现,直到后来…….
Some people come into our lives and quickly go…
有些人走进我们的生活然后很快就离开了…
oooO
( ) Some people
\ ( become friends and
\_) stay awhile....
leaving beautiful footprints on our hearts...
leaving beautiful footprints on our hearts....
有些人成为朋友并稍作停留… 在我们的心里留下美丽的足印。
Yesterday is history. 昨天是历史。
Tomorrow a mystery. 明天是一个谜。
Today is a gift. 今天是一个礼物。
That's why it's called the present!
因此它才被称为present! (present同时具有当前、目前和礼物的意思)
I think this life is special...live and savour every moment....
This is not a dress rehearsal!
TAKE THIS LITTLE ANGEL
AND KEEP HER CLOSE TO YOU
SHE IS YOUR GUARDIAN ANGEL
SENT TO WATCH OVER YOU
____
带着这个小天使,不要让她远离你。她是专门来照看你的守护天使
Now don't delete this message, because it comes from a very special angel.
不要删除此信息。
So what's the morale of the story. When unfortunate things befall us, we tend to interprete this as bad luck or omen. Unfortunately, we do not see it as a benefit. When we look back at the incident that occur years later, we come to realise that how much we have grown and progress. It is exactly because of the incident that has driven one to make effort and progress. Maybe one may lose a job today, but because of that, he may have moved on to a much better job and position later.
So let not any unfortunate incident depress you, but instead motivate you to a better tomorrow.
High Blood Cholesterol – control it the natural and herbal way
High cholesterol is a common problem nowadays, with practically almost a major percentage of those in the 40s age bracket complaining about their cholesterol problem. I am not sure whether this is brought about the better lifestyle that one enjoys as his lots improves along with better income and business contacts that brings with it so-called fine dining and wine couple with lack of time for exercise. Such is the problem that comfort in life that can bring on a lot of health problem that the poor, hard-worker type will have less to combat with.
For the past 10 years, I have been on medication to control my cholesterol level, and lucky enough, I have this under control together with a supplement that comes from the guggul plant. My cholesterol level is now below the threshold of 5.2 which I had trouble maintaining before I took on the guggul supplement.
Over the years, I remember receiving this few times, and this again came into my inbox recently which I thought I should share with you. Afterall, this is not a medication, but in fact , a delicacy that the Chinese common cook in their household. The mail came with someone’s experience who I do not know, but like I said, as a Chinese delicacy, the Mok Yee (black fungus) is available openly and cooked as meal in many Chinese home.
The mail came as follows; Someone’s Experience
I want to share a secret for treating high cholesterol. Three weeks ago l went for a cholesterol check. To my surprise, it was above the normal range which should be less than 5.2 mmol/L. My reading obtained was 6.6. I had been consuming alot of red meat and lamb recently. After consuming Mok Yee (black fungus) for two weeks, l had my cholesterol checked again and found that my cholesterol level fell to 4.70 mmol/L My pharmacist said that even cholesterol medication will need 1- 3 months to take effect. She was very surprised and said it is a miracle.
Review: I immediately followed an advice of a friend who told me about Black fungus (Mok Yee). He had four block heart arteries, over 90 percent blocked. His cardiologist advised him to go for bypass surgery, failing which he would suffer an imminent heart attack. His sinseh ( chinese physician) friend advised him against surgery as the procedure would be messy, painful and expensive. He followed the advise of his sinseh friend by consuming Mok Yee (black fungus) daily. After consuming boiled Mok Yee juice for 40 days, he went for an angiogram. His heart specialist was surprised and shocked that his arteries were all cleared of any blockage and it would not be necessary to see him for another 10 years! My observation is that Mok Yee juice is not only effective in treating high blood cholestrol but also helps to bring relief to joint paints, arthritis and poor blood circulation.
The internet info. claims : that Mok yee reduces blood clot, preventing thrombosis, atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease,and cancer.Black Fungus contains abundant protein, ferric, calcium, vitamin, rough fibre, the content of protein is equal to meat.
Preparation :
1) Pick a hand full of Mok Yee and soak in water for 1-2 hours
2) Wash Mok Yee and cut to pieces with scissors.
3) Pour five bowls of plain water into slow cooker (crock pot)
4) Put 2-3 slices of ginger, 8-10 red dates, 20 kay chee(wolf berry) into crockpot.
5) Bring to boil for 8 hours. One and a half bowls of Mok Yee juice will remain after boiling overnight.
Consumption : You may consume for 10 to 14 days according to the severity of the problem. For those with low blood pressure consume less or only for alternate days. Drink Mok Yee first thing in the morning with an 'empty stomach'. Consume at least one large bowl. Take breakfast 2 hours later.
Side effects - you may feel a little tired after 3- 4 days. Consume multivitamins and fresh fruits and vegetables daily. Do not eat oily or fried foods during this period.
Observation : Dark and oily stool during the first two days.
Remarks : Cholesterol medication is chemical in nature and may harm the liver. Mok Yee is a plant and does not contain chemicals.
Take blood test for blood cholesterol before and after treatment to see the results.
There it goes, I consume Mok Yee as a normal dish but do not know how effective as claimed. If you do try this, do keep me posted on the result.
What This World Need Most - More Caring and Compassionate Thoughts and Consideration
A lot of time, the internet stories that I received are on jokes and sexist in nature. This particular came to me last year, and when I received it, I sort of just skimp through it without much serious thought. The second time round when I re-read this, I must say that it move me to tears, seeing how much of the world today that we are in are lacking of such qualities, much needed necessity.
The people we meet today, tend to be selfish, and thinks only of themselves, the gains. Many of today’s ills and problems stemmed from such selfish thoughts and greed.
If we could just make it point to think of what we can do, to contribute and give something back to the family, the organization, the society, the country, then the world would be a much better place.
Spend the time, to read the following, and hope that we can make the difference and bring some cheers and happiness firstly to those around us, and to others
Read This, The Story goes this way,
At a fundraising dinner for a school that serves learning-disabled children, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by all who attended.
After extolling the school & its dedicated staff, he offered a question: "When not interfered with by outside influences, everything nature does is done with perfection.
Yet my son Shay cannot learn things as other children do. He cannot understand things as other children do. Where is the natural order of things in my son?"
The audience was stilled by the query.
The father continued. "I believe that when a child like Shay, physically and mentally handicapped comes into the world, an opportunity to realize true human nature presents
itself, and it comes in the way other people treat that child."
Then he told the following story:
Shay and his father had walked past a park where some boys Shay knew were playing baseball. Shay asked, "Do you think they'll let me play?" Shay's father knew that most of the boys would not want someone like Shay on their team, but the father also under- stood that if his son were allowed to play, it would give him a much-needed sense of
belonging and some confidence to be accepted by others in spite of his handicaps.
Shay's father approached one of the boys on the field and asked (not expecting much) if Shay could play. The boy looked around for guidance and said, "We're losing by six runs and the game is in the eighth inning. I guess he can be on our team and we'll
try to put him in to bat in the ninth inning."
Shay struggled over to the team's bench and, with a broad smile, put on a team shirt. His Father watched with a small tear in his eye and warmth in his heart. The boys saw the father's joy at his son being accepted.
In the bottom of the 8th inning, Shay's team scored a few runs
but was still behind by 3. In the top of the 9 th inning, Shay put on a glove and played in the right field. Even though no hits came his way, he was obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field,
grinning from ear to ear as his father waved to him from the stands. In the bottom of the 9th inning, Shay's team scored again. Now, with 2 outs and bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and Shay was scheduled to be next at bat.
At this juncture, do they let Shay bat and give away their chance to win the game? Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat. Everyone knew that a hit was all but impossible because Shay didn't even know how to hold the bat properly, much less connect with the ball.
However, as Shay stepped up to the plate, the pitcher, recognizing that the other team was putting winning aside for this moment in Shay's life, moved in a few steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least make contact. The 1st pitch came. Shay swung clumsily
and missed. The pitcher again took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards Shay.
As the pitch came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher.
The game would now be over. The pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the ball to the first baseman. Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game.
Instead, the pitcher threw the ball right over the first baseman's head, out of reach of all team-mates. Everyone from the stands and both teams started yelling, "Shay, run to 1st! Run to 1st!"
Never in his life had Shay ever run that far, but he made it to first base.
He scampered down the baseline, wide-eyed and startled. Everyone yelled, "Run to 2nd, run to 2nd!" Catching his breath, Shay awkwardly ran towards second, gleaming and struggling to make it to the base. By the time Shay rounded towards 2nd base, the right fielder had the ball .. the smallest guy on their team who now had his 1st chance to be the hero for his team. He could have thrown the ball to the 2nd-baseman for the tag, but he understood the pitcher's intentions so he, too, intentionally threw the ball high and far over the 3rd-baseman's head. Shay ran toward 3rd base deliriously as the runners ahead of him circled the bases toward home.
All were screaming, "Shay, Shay, Shay, all the Way Shay"
Shay reached third base because the opposing shortstop ran to help him by turning him in the direction of third base, and shouted, "Run to third! Shay, run to third!"
As Shay rounded third, the boys from both teams, and the spectators, were on their feet screaming, "Shay, run home! Run home!" Shay ran to home, stepped on the plate, and was cheered as the hero who hit the grand slam and won the game for his team.
"That day", said the father softly with tears now rolling down his face, "the boys from both teams helped bring a piece of true love and humanity into this world".
Shay didn't make it to another summer. He died that winter, having never forgotten being the hero and making his father so happy, and coming home and seeing his Mother tearfully embrace her little hero of the day!
AND NOW A LITTLE FOOTNOTE TO THIS STORY:
We all send thousands of jokes through the e-mail without a second thought, but when it
comes to sending messages about life choices, people hesitate. The crude, vulgar, and
often obscene pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion about decency is
too often suppressed in our schools and workplaces.
This is indeed touching, and I believe we, each individually can make a difference, maybe not to ourselves but at least to others. There are thousands of opportunities every single day to help realize the "natural order of things." So many seemingly trivial interactions between two person, do we then pass along a little spark of love and humanity or do we pass up those opportunities and leave the world a little bit colder in the process?
A wise man once said every society is judged by how it treats it's least fortunate amongst them.
Hope you like this story.
It is Never Enough - Always Striving For More
Greetings to You, and welcome to this site – AboutInternetStories. As the blog name suggests, this is the Blog to share about stories, articles and jokes that one normally gets from the internet. Over the last few years, the author has come across numerous and in fact his email have been flooded with tremendous numbers of stories, articles and jokes. And I can say that while many of them are horrible and unpleasant, many are indeed interesting and should propagated to generate more awareness, not so much about the jokes, but to serve as a learning lesson..
Many of such articles deserves to be disseminated further to create the awareness as these help us to be better prepared when it happens to us someday, .. and many others can at least create some laughter.
The following articles came to me some time back, but it does carry a good learning lesson. Let’s see this first.
Let Not your hearts be troubled !
PEACE OF MIND
If you were to ask your neighbor,
"What would give you peace of mind?" he might tell you,
"A vacation in Bermuda!" or
"An extra hundred grand would give me peace!", or
"A new Ferrari would make me content!"
But going places - and getting stuff - is usually a temporary solution ...
Peace of mind rarely comes from getting more stuff.
Getting more stuff usually leads to wanting even more stuff!
Peace of mind starts with being grateful for what we have right now.
GRATITUDE is POWER
When we are thankful for what we have - for the friends we have, and for the things we've got, we attract more good people and good things!
People who always complain about what they DON'T HAVE, stay stuck. Complainers attract more things to complain about!
It is a law of life. It's hard to explain, but you can observe it around you. We get more of what we dwell upon.
That's why all the spiritual masters have taught the same lesson ...
"Start by being thankful. Be happy with what you have now, and
The lesson here is that while we achieved something, it is never enough. Our thoughts, desires and actions says that the grass over the fence is always greener. We have something at the expense of some other thing. Taken to the extreme, we no longer value what we have, we ignore them, we despise them, we do not appreciate them and neglected them. And in the final, when we lost this very thing by our side all this while, we then come to realize what we miss.
So look around yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, work and whatever you have been blessed with, start to take note and appreciate them, and start by showing this with simple gesture to the effect.
