The following email I received recently, aptly depicts the situation today, when we look around and see that many people only know how to take and forgotten about giving and sharing.
This is food for thought and reflection.

To give credit to the original author, I thought I would reproduce text in entirety as follows;

Sitting in the Geography class in school, I remember how fascinated I was when we were being taught all about the Dead Sea. As you probably recall, the Dead Sea is really a Lake, not a sea (and as my Geography teacher pointed out, if you understood that, it would guarantee 4 marks in the term paper!) Its so high in salt content that the human body can float easily. You can almost lie down and read a book! The salt in the Dead Sea is as high as 35% - almost 10 times the normal ocean water. And all that saltiness has meant that there is no life at all in the Dead Sea. No fish. No vegetation. No sea animals. Nothing lives in the Dead sea. And hence the name: Dead Sea.

While the Dead Sea has remained etched in my memory, I don't seem to recall learning about the Sea of Galilee in my school Geography lesson. So when I heard about the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea and the tale of the two seas - I was intrigued. Turns out that the Sea of Galilee is just north of the Dead Sea. Both the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea receive their water from river Jordan.

And yet, they are very, very different.Unlike the Dead Sea, the Sea of Galilee is pretty, resplendent with rich, colorful marine life. There are lots of plants. And lots of fish too. In fact, the sea of Galilee is home to over twenty different types of fishes. Same region, same source of water, and yet while one sea is full of life, the other is dead. How come?Here apparently is why. The River Jordan flows into the Sea of Galilee and then flows out. The water simply passes through the Sea of Galilee in and then out - and that keeps the Sea healthy and vibrant, teeming with marine life.But the Dead Sea is so far below the mean sea level, that it has no outlet. The water flows in from the river Jordan, but does not flow out. There are no outlet streams. It is estimated that over a million tons of water evaporate from the Dead Sea every day. Leaving it salty. Too full of minerals. And unfit for any marine life.

The Dead Sea takes water from the River Jordan, and holds it. It does not give.
Result? No life at all.Think about it.Life is not just about getting. Its about giving.

We all need to be a bit like the Sea of Galilee. We are fortunate to get wealth, knowledge, love and respect. But if we don't learn to give, we could all end up like the Dead Sea.

The love and the respect, the wealth and the knowledge could all evaporate. Like the water in the Dead Sea.If we get the Dead Sea mentality of merely taking in more water, more money, more everything the results can be disastrous.

Good idea to make sure that in the sea of your own life, you have outlets. Many outlets.For love and wealth - and everything else that you get in your life. Make sure you don't just get, you give too. Open the taps. And you'll open the floodgates to happiness. Make that a habit.

To share. To give.And experience life. Experience the magic!

Posted by: Ivan

EGGs Promotes Growth

Much has been said and written about the effect of eating to much egg. How it contributes to cholesterol and associated heart disease. So much so, till today, I have this tendency to avoid eggs even though I like them so much. This came into my mail the other day and I thought to share it with you.,

EGGS......HARVARD STUDIES.....PROMOTES GROWTH
AND LESSENS RISK OF CATARACTS.

(Any egg expert around to comment?)

One egg a day should be OK ?

Great news for those of us who love eggs!

10 Health Benefits of Eggs :

1. Eggs are great for the eyes. According to one study, an egg a day may prevent mascular degeneraton <http:>due to the carotenoid content, specifically lutein <http:>and zeaxanthin. Both nutrients are more readily available to our bodies from eggs than from other sources.

2. In another study, researchers found that people who eat eggs every day lower their risk of developing cataracts, also because of the lutein and zeaxanthin in eggs.

3. One egg contains 6 grams of high-quality protein and all 9 essential amino acids.

4. According to a study by the Harvard School of Public Health, there is no significant link between egg consumption and heart disease
<http:>.
In fact, according to one study, regular consumption of eggs may help prevent blood clots, stroke <http:>, and heart attacks <http:>.

5. They are a good source of choline. One egg yolk has about 300 micrograms of choline. Choline is an important nutrient that helps regulate the brain, nervous system, and cardiovascular system.

6. They contain the right kind of fat. One egg contains just 5 grams of fat and only 1.5 grams of that is saturated fat.

7. New research shows that, contrary to previous belief, moderate consumption of eggs does not have a negative impact on cholesterol. In fact, recent studies have shown that regular consumption of two eggs per day does not affect a person's lipid profile and may, in fact, improve it.

Research suggests that it is saturated fat that raises cholesterol rather than dietary cholesterol.

8. Eggs are one of the only foods that contain naturally occurring vitamin D .

9. Eggs may prevent breast cancer <http:>. In one study, women who consumed at least 6 eggs per week lowered their risk of breast cancer by 44%.

10. Eggs promote healthy hair and nails because of their high sulphur content and wide array of vitamins and minerals. Many people find their hair growing faster after adding eggs to their diet, especially if they were previously deficient in foods containing sulphur or B12.

Well whether you believe this or not, I think I'll stick to prudence that always to take things in moderation, more so especially when it comes to food.

Posted by : Ivan

Self Detoxification

Many people resort to detoxification in order to combat the negative and harmful effects of drugs or alcohol on the body, or simply to strengthen the immune system. By starting a detoxification process a person can flush out unwanted toxins from the body and begin the cleansing process.

There are many different ways in which a person can detoxify himself, and the primary determining factors for deciding what kind of detoxification process will suit an individual best will depend on the type of intoxicant that was being consumed, and the length of time it was consumed for. It is fair to assume that once a person has decided to undergo the process of detoxification, he/she will be discontinuing the consumption of intoxicants.

This is very true!

Follow this few easy and simple steps, and soon, you will be on the way to a healthier you.

Before you go to bed at night, prepare this magic portion. Finely chop or use the food blender to chop up two cloves of fresh garlic and let it expose to the air for a few minutes while you wash up your blender or chopping board.

The chopping releases the enzyme allinase in the garlic. Gather the chopped garlic on a spoon and swallow it with water.

The garlic will travel your entire digestive tract while you sleep and scavenge and neutralize all the toxins, carcinogens, harmful bacteria, fungi, viruses, foreign chemical before they can harm your healthy cell.

Swallowing the chopped garlic will not give you garlic breath, as long as you don't chew it. You brush your teeth and rinse your mouth before you go to bed anyway.

In the morning, drink a big glass of water. Your first bowel movement have a strong garlic odor and you will know that the harmful stuff have been eliminated from your body. Try it, especially if you have had a bad eating day.

Facts to know about Chemotherapy

New facts that you should know about chemotherapy.

We are told that once a person is diagnosed with cancer, the likely treatment is chemotherapy. I have first hand experience with chemotherapy, having taken my mother to frequent dosage of chemotherapy to cure her cancer in her stomach. Much as there were Hope in the initial stage, I must say that in the finality, just as I observed in many other cancer cases, the treatment brought with it many side-effects before the patients succumb to the cancer at the end.

It seems that there is so much to the treatment of chemotherapy that we do not know about. So when I received the following from the email, I felt the need to share it with you. So, below are some more facts that you should know about the treatment of chemotherapy.

The Mail goes....

AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY ('TRY', BEING THE KEY WORD) TO ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHNS HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY.

Cancer Update from Johns Hopkins :

Fact 1
Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion.. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to
detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

Fact 2.
Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime.

Fact 3
When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.

Fact 4

When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

Fact 5

To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

Fact 6
Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract etc, and can
cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

Fact 7
Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and
organs.

Fact 8.
Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.

Fact 9.

When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.

Fact 10.
Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

Fact 11.

An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

*CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

a) Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet,
Equal, Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses, but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in color. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.

b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soy
milk cancer cells are being starved.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth
hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans.. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to
cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells.. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer fighting properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid
known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

Fact 12.

Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines becomes putrefied and leads to more toxic buildup.

Fact 13.
Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

Fact 14.
Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the bodies own killer cells to destroy cancer cells..Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.

Fact 15.
Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, un-forgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.

Fact 16.
Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

1.
No plastic containers in micro.

2. No water bottles in freezer.

3. No plastic wrap in microwave.

Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters. This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as well. Dioxin chemicals cause cancer, especially breast cancer. Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies. Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic. Recently, Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Cast le Hospital, was on a TV program to explain this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us. He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers. This especially applies to foods that contain fat. He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body. Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else. Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper. It's just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc. He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons.

Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.

This is an article that should be sent to anyone important in your life.

Hope this article helps, do spread this around.

Posted by;
Ivan

Diabetics Treatment

Finally Good New for All Diabetics.

Recently, I went for a routine blood test. The test was for the cholesterol monitoring as I have been taking the ZOCOR medicine for quite some time. When the result came back, I was in a bit of shock when the doctor told me that the sugar level is too high, exceeding the threshold.

As this was the first time, the doctor asked me to go back to the Clinic for another test on the glucose the following day. During the subsequently test, I asked to provide the urine and a blood sample was taken. After this, I was given a drink, which I think was glucose. I was asked not to eat anything and can only drink water, and to go back in an hours time.

When I returned an hour later, again I was asked to provide a urine test, and blood sample taken. This was repeated for a second time for the next hour. When the report came out, it was a relieve that it was a false alarm and I was told that I do not have to take any medication. When I checked further into this diabetic treatment, only then did I realise how important it is not to be inflicted with diabetic conditions as this tend to lead to many complications.

So when I received this in an email about a treatment for diabetics, I thought to share this with you immediately. Below is the detail of the Treatment for Diabetics.

Diabetic ! Finally good news for all Diabetics.

A woman (65) was diabetic for the last 20+ years and was taking insulin twice a day, she used the enclosed homemade medicine for a fortnight and now she is absolutely free of diabetes and taking all her food as normal including sweets.....

The doctors have advised her to stop insulin and any other blood sugar controlling drugs. I request you all please circulate this email to as many people as you can and let them take the maximum benefit from it.

Dr. Tony Almeida (Bombay Kidney Speciality expert) made the extensive experiments with perseverance and patience and discovered a successful treatment for diabetes. Nowaday, a lot of people, old men and women in particular suffer a lot due to diabetes.

Ingredients;

1) Wheat flour 100 gm
2) Gum (of tree) (gondh) 100 gm
3) Barley 100gm
4) Black seeds (Kalunji) 100 gm

Method of preparaton : PUt all the above ingredients in 5 cups of water. Boil it for 10 minutes and put off the fire. Allow it to cool down by itself. When it has become cold, filter out the seeds and preserve the water in a glass jug or bottle.

How to use it?
Take one small cup of this water every day early morning when your stomach is empty.
Continue this for 7 days. Next week, repeat the same but on alternate days. With these 2 weeks of treatment, you will wonder to see that you have become normal and can eat normal food without problem.

Note : A request is to spread this to as many as possible so that others can also take the benefit out of it.

Since these are all natural ingredients, taking them is not harmful. So those who a sceptical about this treatment may still try it without any harm. Worst case scenario will be that you remain still the same as you were before.

So if you are thinking of trying this, do it in addition whatever medication you are taking now. Do not stop your medication unless your doctor advise you to so.

Posted by
Ivan

Hot Cocoa For High Blood Pressure

Could hot cocoa be the new "wonder drug" for High Blood Pressure

According to recent estimates, nearly 1 in 3 American adults has high blood pressure. But for the Kuna Indians living on a group of islands off the Caribbean coast of Pananma, hypertension does not even exist. In fact, after age 60, the average blood pressure for Kuna Indian islanders is a perfect 110/70.

Is it because they eat less salt? No, Kuna Indians who eat as much, if not more salt, than people in the US.

Is it due to their genes? No. Kuna Indians who moved away from the islands are just as likely to suffer from high blood pressure as anyone else!

So what makes these folks practically "immune" to hypertension - and lets them enjoy much lower death rates from heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, and cancer?

Harvard researchers were stunned to discover it's because they drink aout 5 cups of cocoa each day. A Harvard Medical School professor claims cocoa can also treat blocked arteries, congestive heart failure, stroke, dementia, and even impotence!

Cocoa - A hot cup of cocoa with marshmallows

So if you enjoy your cocoa drink, you can enjoy it much better now knowing what good it can bring. Who would imagine, banana, a kind of very cheap fruit and available in abundant has anti-cancer property. I came across this circulation that says that eating banana can help prevent cancer. With today's lost of many lives to cancer, I hope spreading this knowledge will help the mass.

The fully ripe banana produces a substance call TNF which has the ability to combat abnormal cells. TNF apparently stands for Tumor Necrosis Factor, some very technical and medical term.

So don't be surprised very soon the shop will go out of stock of bananas. As the banana ripens, it develops dark spots or patches on the skin. The more dark patches it has, the higher will be its immunity enhancement quality.

Hence the Japanese love bananas for a good reason. According to a Japanese scientific research, banana contains TNF which has anti-cancer properties.

The degree of anti-cancer effect corresponds to the degree of ripeness of the fruit, that is the riper the banana, the better the anti-cancer quality.

In an animal experiment carried out by a professor in Tokyo U comparing the various health benefits of different fruits, using banana, grape, apple, water melon, pineapple, pear and persimmon, it was found that banana gave the best results. It increased the number of white blood cells, enhanced the immunity of the body and produced anti-cancer substance TNF.

The recommendation is to eat 1 to 2 bananas a day to increase your body immunity to diseases like cold, flu and others.

According to the Japanese professor, yellow skin bananas with dark spots on it are 8 times more effective in enhancing the property of white blood cells than the green skin version.

Like the saying an apple a day, keeps the doctor away. Likewise, a banana a day, keeps cancer away.

Posted by
Ivan

Water Benefit

DRINK WATER ON EMPTY STOMACH

From small, we are trained by our parents in our routine. When it comes to food and drink, our behavior is shaped by our home habit and education.

When I first started to work, I came across some advice that says that when we first wake up in the morning, we should drink a lot of water before we do anything and this helps in our body system. Water benefits, that's what they say. Plain water, who would have believed in water benefits. More so, people are talking about nutrients, and what is there in water that will support the notion that drink water benefits.

It’s been some 20 plus years that I have faithfully kept to that, when the amount of water varies, the first thing I try to get hold of is to drink a lot of water. Right or wrong, I am today still strong and healthy apart from the cholesterol and high blood pressure that I have to bear with, which I know stems from my bad lifestyle of consuming food without restraints and inadequate sleep.

So this message being spread about the goodness of Drinking Water on an Empty Stomach does resemble in a way, what I have been doing the years.

The Message is “Drink Water on Empty Stomach”

It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up, every morning. A common item for cooking to the chinese, lady finger is common vegetables for food. For those who have diabetes, will know the inconvenience and problem and hassle of taking insulin injections. Of course, nowadays, there are tablets that can be taken instead. Having diabetes is dangerous, as this can lead to other illness easily.

Lady Finger - this is how it looks like.

The following email arrive just a couple of days ago, and I thought it good to share this. Here the story goes,

"Quote"

Please note that another name for Lady Finger (Bhindi) is "OKURA". Last month, in one of the TV program I learnt of a treatment of Sugar (Diabetes).

Since I am diabetic, I tried it and it was very useful and my Sugar is in control now. In fact I have already reduced my medicine. Take two pieces of Lady Finger (Bhindi) and remove/cut both ends of each piece.

Also put a small cut in the middle and put thse two pieces in glass of water. Cover the glass and keep it at room temperature during night.

Early morning, before breakfast simply remove two pieces of lady finger (bhindi) from the glass and drink that water. Keep doing it on daily basis.

Within two weeks, you will see remarkable results in reduction of your Sugar.

My sister has got rid of her diabetes. She was on INsulin for a few years, but after taking the lady fingers every morning for a few months. She has stopped Insulin but continues to take the lady fingers every day.

But she chops the lady fingers into fine pieces in the night, adds the water and drinks it all up the next morning.

Please try it as it will not do you any harm even if it does not do much good to you, but U have to keep taking it for a few months before U see results, as most cases might be chronic. "Unquote"

Looks like it is not the food that we eat is important, but rather how the food is handle and process plays an important part.

Posted by
Ivan

On the Brick

The Brick Story

The story was told as below;

A young and successful executive was travelling down a neighborhood street, going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar.

He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something. As his car passed, no children appeared. Instead, a brick smashed into the Jag's side door! He slammed on the brakes and backed the Jag back to the spot where the brick had been thrown.

The angry driver then jumped out of the car, grabbed the nearest kid and pushed him up against a parked car shouting, "What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are your doing! That's a new car and that brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money. Why did you do it?

The young boy was apologetic. "Please, mister ..please, I'm sorry but I didn't know what else to do," he pleaded, "I threw the brick because no one else would stop..." with tears dripping down his face and off his chin, the youth pointed to a spot just around a parked car. "It's my brother," he said. " He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him up."

Now sobbing, the boy asked the stunned executive, "Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me".

Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. He hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into the wheelchair, then took out a linen handkerchief and dabbed at the fresh scrapes and cuts. A quick look told him everything was going to be okay. "Thank you and may God bless you, " the grateful child told the stranger. Too shock up for words, the man simply watched the boy push his wheelchair-bound brother down the sidewalk towards their home.

It was a long, slow walk back to the Jaguar. The damage was very noticeable, but the driver never bothered to repair the dented side door. He kept the dent there to remind him of this message: "Don't go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention!". God whispers in our souls and speaks to our hearts. Sometimes when we don't have time to listen, He has to throw a brick at us. It's our choice to listen or not. End of Story.

The point is due to the need to make a living, we rush our daily lives through, most of the time on a very fast lane. In the process, we overlook many people and happenings around us. And sometimes, things happened along the way that serve as wake-up call to ourselves. Let's us pause for a while and give time to our lives to see, feel and appreciate things that are there. And hopefully, we will never need such a story on the brick to wake us up.

Posted by
Ivan

Pretty Lady

Lesson from the Story of the Pretty Lady

Very often, when our feelings are hurt by others, whether over something that people have done or not done, we harbor the hurt for a long time and suffer in silence for a long time. In the process, the hurt extends beyond a long long time, something very unwise and can bring untold damage. Perhaps the following story of the Pretty Lady brings home the point.

Here goes the story

Once upon a time, a big monk and a little monk were travelling together. They came to the bank of a river and found the bridge was damaged. They had to wade across the river. There was a pretty lady who was stuck at the damaged bridge and couldn’t cross the river. The big monk offered to carry her across the river on his back. The lady accepted. The little monk was shocked by the move of the big monk. “How can big brother carry a lady when we are supposed to avoid all intimacy with females?” though the little monk. But he kept quiet.

The big monk carried the lady across the river and the small monk followed unhappily. When they crossed the river, the big monk let the lady down and they parted ways with her. All along the way for several miles, the little monk was very unhappy with the act of the big monk. He was making up all kinds of accusations about the big monk in his head. This got him madder and madder. But he still kept quiet. And the big monk had no inclination to explain his situation.
Finally, at a rest point many hours later, the little monk could not stand it any further, he burst out angrily at the big monk. “How can you claim yourself a devout monk, when you seize the first opportunity to touch a female, especially when she is every pretty? All your teachings to me make you a big hypocrite.”
The big monk looked surprised and said, “I had put down the pretty lady at the river bank many hours ago, how come you are still carrying her along?”

(This very old Chinese Zen story reflects the thinking of many people today. We encounter many unpleasant things in our life, they irritate us and they make us angry. Sometimes, they cause us a lot of hurt, sometimes they cause us to be bitter or jealous..But like the little monk, we are not willing to let them go away. We keep on carrying the baggage of the ‘pretty lady’ with us. We let them keep on coming back to hurt us, make us angry, make us bitter and cause us a lot of agony. Why? Simply because we are not willing to put down or let go of the baggage of the ‘pretty lady’. We should let go of the pretty lady immediately after crossing the river, that is after the unpleasant event is over. This will immediately remove all our agonies. There is no need to be further hurt by the unpleasant event after it is over. Over times, whether we like it or not, stones get accumulated within some organs in our body. Many years back, I remember trying out a formula to help remove stones from our gall bladder. I was told that we all have stones within us. It is a matter of few or many. The more water we drink, the better it is for us. Recently, I have come across 2 friends who unfortunately, have to remove stones from their kidney. So when I received the following internet mail, I thought of sharing the goodness of barley and drinking barley water. Apparently, this came from someone in Australia.

For the Chinese, drinking barley water is a common habit. Here goes the content of the internet story

“High in fibre, barley is also a kidney cleanser. Better yet, regular intake of it helps prevent heart disease. BARLEY water was always a regular drink when we were still living at home. Whenever we had to go for a medical exam that included a urine test , my mum would have us drink barley water a day before it to make sure we got a positive result!

My mother was a wise woman. I later found out from an Australian naturopath that barley known to be a kidney cleanser, and he happily downed glasses of it at a meal we had in the coffee shop here.

Barley is good for your intestinal health too. Try to eat the barley grains you find in your drink or sweet broth and fu chook (bean curd skin) and gingko nuts.

It’s high in fibre which feeds the friendly bacteria in the colon and helps speed up the transit of fecal matter in int. In this way it helps prevent haemorrhoids and colon cancer.

The propionic acid and beta glucan from barley’s insoluble fibre also help lower cholesterol and prevent the formation of gallstones.

Eating barley regularly is a preventive step against heart disease as, besides the fibre content, it is also high in niacin, a B vitamin good for lowering cholesterol.

Diabetics should eat more barley as the fibre will prevent blood sugar levels from rising too high. It also provides relief from constipation or diarrhea for those suffering from Irritational Bowel Syndrome.

Barley is rich in selenium which prevents cancer and relieves symptoms of asthma and arthritis. It is a good source of manganese, copper and phosphorous.

Malt sugar comes from sprouted barley which, when fermented, is an ingredient in beer and other alcoholic beverages.

Barley, whose Latin name is Hordeum vulgare, has been cultivated for more than 10,000 years.
Since ancient times, barley has been used for healing purposes and has been known to the Chinese, Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans. Athletes in Greece and Rome in those days were known to eat barley bread to give them strength.

Besides the usual things we do with barley, I enjoy having it in a western soup. The large pearl barley is used and I love the sticky bite of it.

Here’s a recipe for barley soup:

Barley soup with roasted garlic
- 1 cup pearl barley
- 5 cloves whole garlic, roasted
- 2 litres chicken stock, steeped from 1 chicken breasts simmered in 3 litres water
- 2 tbsps vegetable oil
- 2 large onions, diced
- 150g turkey ham, cut up
- 1 tsp ground white pepper
- 1 tsps sea salt or to taste
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley

Method
1. Wash barley and soak it in a bowl of water for 3 hours. Drain.
2. Heat oil in pan and fry onions. Add carrots and celery, then the barley and fry for 3 minutes
3. Add Chicken stock, pepper and roasted garlic and simmer over low heat for at least an hour, or until barley is soft.
4. Add salt to taste and serve the soup garnished with chopped parsley.

Well, I have not tried this recipe. But I do drink a lot of barley water and can tell that it has many good properties. Like many people used to ask me whether the things that I consumed is effective, I would say that the fact that I am still around and healthy is good enough evidence.

Posted by
Ivan

Things you never knew your cellphone can do

Hand phones are so ubiquitous nowadays that if you ask anyone that something that one cannot do away without, hand phone is probably listed among the top items. It comes in so handy that one can be at a lost when he forgets to bring along his hand phone. As it is so convenient and handy that always accompany us, it is important that we get to know some unique features of hand phones that are useful during emergency cases. Below are some that I came to know about from an email that I got from a friend.

Here below are the pleasant suprises!

There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies.
Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for
survival. Check out the things that you can do with it:

*1*
* The Emergency Number worldwide for **Mobile** is 112 .* If you find
yourself out of coverage area of your mobile network and there is an
emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to
establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly this number 112
can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. **Try it out.**

*2*
* Subject: Have you locked your keys in the car? Does you car have remote
keys?*
This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone:
If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call
someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone.
Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person
at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on
their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your
keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away,
and if you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your car, you
can unlock the doors (or the trunk).
Editor's Note: *It works fine! We tried it out and it unlocked our car
over a cell phone!"*

*3*
Subject: Hidden Battery power
Imagine your cell battery is very low , you are expecting an important call
and you don't have a charger. Nokia instrument comes with a reserve
battery. To activate, press the keys *3370# Your cell will restart with
this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This
reserve will get charged when you charge your cell next time.
AND

*4*
How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?
To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on
your phone:

* # 0 5 #
A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your
handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. when your phone get
stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They
will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the
SIM card, your phone will be totally useless.
You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever
stole it can't use/sell it either.
If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile
phones.

Please spread this useful information around. Someone may need it someday.

Posted by
Ivan

Stroke symptoms – early signs of a Stroke

Stroke as the cause of death is high on the list. The cause of stroke is well known, yet people find it hard to resist the temptation what good life can offers. So the next best thing is if we cannot prevent it, is perhaps to recognize it and more so at the onset of the stroke itself.

I  received the internet mail on the 3 indicators very much earlier.  However, recently, this 4th indicator came.  And I think it will do us much good to be aware of this as we might never know, the knowledge comes in handy sometimes not to ourselves, but to those around us.   And so the internet story goes as follows;

Subject: Blood Clots/Stroke - They Now Have a Fourth Indicator, the Tongue.

I've heard about the tongue being an indicator of stroke, but hadn't seen in written down. It is always useful to keep in mind such simple indications to indicate stroke.

Blood Clots/Stroke - They Now Have a Fourth Indicator, the Tongue.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_NfqETK3OeUA/SZPNcOOnAuI/AAAAAAAAAHs/sI_ProO_-GY/s320/strokeindicator.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5301807071084610274" />

Below I will continue to forward this every time it comes around!STROKE:Remember The 1st Three Letters....S.T.R.My nurse friend sent this and encouraged me to post it and spread the word.I agree. If everyone can remember something this simple, we could save some folks.

Seriously..Please read:

STROKE IDENTIFICATION:During a BBQ, a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) ....she said she had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes.They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the eveningIngrid's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00 pm Ingrid passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today. Some don't die.... they end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead.It only takes a minute to read this...A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE
Thank God for the sense to remember the '3' steps, STR . Read and Learn!

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S *Ask the individual to SMILE.
T *Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently)(i.e. It is sunny out today)
R *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks,call 911immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

New Sign of a Stroke -------- Stick out Your Tongue

NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out his tongue.. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other, that is also an indication of a stroke.

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this e-mail sends it to 10 people; you can bet that at least one life will be saved.

Hope you will never need to use this new knowledge. Feel free to leave your comments on this.

Posted by
Ivan

Beware of the Danger with Dry Ice – Enjoy your Baskin Robbins Ice Cream

My family is one that use to buy Baskin Robbins Ice Cream, and they offer special discount on certain days. When you buy a lot, they pack it up nicely with Dry Ice to ensure that the ice cream does not melt by the time you reach home.

When I receive this email, I must say that I am thankful that I am also one that is ignorant of the danger without realizing it. So if you are like me, who goes to buy Baskin Robbin Ice-Cream, just be aware of the danger with the dry ice, and make sure you wind down your window, on your trip home. Or if you do fetch Dry Ice for other purpose, be cautious.

This is how the internet story goes….

Remember this especially when we buy lots of ice cream during Baskin Robbins
31st day offer!!!
They normally put dry ice in your ice cream pack if you buy a lot.

A friend bought four pack of ice cream and to prevent it from melting,
the seller put the dry ice amongst the ice cream. My friend put it at
the back seat (not the back of the car) and he started to drive with the
windows closed and the air condition on (as what we all do). Soon after that,
he had difficulty to breath and it was getting worser by minutes.
Luckily, he was in a traffic jam and when he almost fainted, beside him
was an ambulance. He dragged himself to the ambulance and got the oxygen
treatment. He was getting better on the way to the hospital.

The ambulance officer drove his car to the hospital and he had the same
experience. However, before his condition worsen, he opened up the
window and he can breathe easily. Only later, when my friend has
returned to office and told his colleagues about his story, they pointed
to him that the dry ice was the problem. WHY?

Dry ice was made of CO2 and when it "melts", it becomes CO2 gas straight
away without leaving any wet mark (that is why it is called dry ice).
CO2 is easier to be tied up in our blood and thus, when the dry ice
sublimes into CO2 gas, it fills the car room with it along with the air
con circulation and caused CO2 poisoning. So, don’t put the dry ice
inside your car if you are using air condition with fully closed windows. You
must leave the windows open for such situation.

Hope this will help to prevent any fatality just from a small negligence
like this. Imagine if you have your children inside, they might be the
first victim.

Well be careful, and enjoy your ice cream.

Posted by
Ivan

Herbal Treatment for High Blood Cholesterol

In my interaction with people, it is not uncommon to find that for every 10 persons that we interact with, there are at least a few people who would complain that they are affected by cholesterol problem. I remember that in my early days, cholesterol as a health issue is unheard of. Perhaps, our lifestyle and diet today has contributed to our unhealthy situation.

This one internet mail that I came across, shares of the secret of using a type of Black Fungus (Mok Yee) to help to control the cholesterol level. I can recall eating and having consumed numerous times the Black Fungus as a food item for the Chinese dish. I have heard of its good and healing properties before, but with this internet story, there is specific portion and method of preparation which I think is helpful. So if you are already high on this cholesterol reading, you can try the following formula and see the improvement to your reading.

The internet stories goes as follows;

The beauty of herbal treatment for High Blood cholesterol
I want to share a secret for treating high cholesterol. Three weeks ago l went for a cholesterol check. To my surprise, it was above the normal range which should be less than 5.2 mmol/L. My reading obtained was 6.6. I had been consuming a lot of red meat and lamb recently. After consuming Mok Yee (black fungus) for two weeks, l had my cholesterol checked again and found that my cholesterol level fell to 4.70 mmol/L My pharmacist said that even cholesterol medication will need 1- 3 months to take effect. She was very surprised and said it is a miracle.

Review:
I immediately followed an advice of a friend who told me about Black fungus (Mok Yee). He had four block heart arteries, over 90 percent blocked. His cardiologist advised him to go for bypass surgery, failing which he would suffer an imminent heart attack. His sinseh ( chinese physician) friend advised him against surgery as the procedure would be messy, painful and expensive. He followed the advice of his sinseh friend by consuming Mok Yee (black fungus) daily. After consuming boiled Mok Yee juice for 40 days, he went for an angiogram. His heart specialist was surprised and shocked that his arteries were all cleared of any blockage and it would not be necessary to see him for another 10 years!

My observation is that Mok Yee juice is not only effective in treating high blood cholesterol but also helps to bring relief to joint paints, arthritis and poor blood circulation.
The internet info. claims : that Mok yee reduces blood clot, preventing thrombosis, atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease,and cancer. Black Fungus contains abundant protein, ferric, calcium, vitamin, rough fibre, the content of protein is equal to meat.

Preparation :
1) Pick a hand full of Mok Yee and soak in water for 1-2 hours
2) Wash Mok Yee and cut to pieces with scissors.
3) Pour five bowls of plain water into slow cooker (crock pot)
4) Put 2-3 slices of ginger, 8-10 red dates, 20 kay chee(wolf berry) into crock pot.
5) Bring to boil for 8 hours. One and a half bowls of Mok Yee juice will remain after boiling overnight.

Consumption : You may consume for 10 to 14 days according to the severity of the problem. For those with low blood pressure consume less or only for alternate days. Drink Mok Yee first thing in the morning with an 'empty stomach'. Consume at least one large bowl. Take breakfast 2 hours later.

Side effects - you may feel a little tired after 3- 4 days. Consume multivitamins and fresh fruits and vegetables daily. Do not eat oily or fried foods during this period. Observation : Dark and oily stool during the first two days.

Remarks : Cholesterol medication is chemical in nature and may harm the liver. Mok Yee is a plant and does not contain chemicals.

Take blood test for blood cholesterol before and after treatment "Mok Yee" or black fungus is a dry condiment. You can get from grocery shop or medical hall.

I think the effectiveness of this may depend on the condition we are in. If you do try this out, please let a comment whether this helps in your situation.

Posted by
Ivan

Motherly Love knows no bound and without limit

It is the month of December, where many people are now going on their year-end holidays. Perhaps, some have already gone and returned to work just like me, who just returned from attending my daughter's graduation ceremony down Under.

It was just recently, that I had several discussions about children's education, how expensive it is nowadays and how parents had to work through the years to see their hard-earned money just vanished in the couple of years for the sake of children's education. And then, there were some who would just refused to spend their so-called retirement money. It just makes one wonders that as parent, how far would one go to support his own child.

The following story was circulated recently, and I would like to share this with you.

Send it to the kids.....

My mom only had one eye. I hated her.... she was such an embarrassment.
She cooked for students & teachers to support the family.

There was this one day during elementary school where my mom came to say hello to me.

I was so embarrassed.

How could she do this to me?
I ignored her, threw her a hateful look and ran out.
The next day at school one of my classmates said, 'EEEE, your mom only has one eye!'

I wanted to bury myself.
I also wanted my mom to just disappear.
I confronted her that day and said, ' If you're only goanna make me a laughing stock, why don't you just die?'

My mom did not respond...
I didn't even stop to think for a second about what I had said, because I was full of anger.
I was oblivious to her feelings.

I walked out of that house, and have nothing to do with her.
So I studied real hard, got a chance to go abroad to study..
Then, I got married.
I bought a house of my own.
I had kids of my own.
I was happy with my life, my kids and the comforts, Then one day, my
mother came to visit me.
She hadn't seen me in years and she didn't even meet her grandchildren.

When she stood by the door, my children laughed at her, and I yelled at her for coming over uninvited.
I screamed at her, 'How dare you come to my house and scare my children!'
GET OUT OF HERE! NOW!!!'

And to this, my mother quietly answered, 'Oh, I'm so sorry. I may have gotten the wrong address,' and she disappeared out of sight.
One day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house.

So I lied to my wife that I was going on a business trip.
After the reunion, I went to the old shack just out of curiosity.
My neighbors said that she died.
I did not shed a single tear.
They handed me a letter that she had wanted me to have.

'My dearest son,
I think of you all the time. I'm sorry that I came to your house and
scared your children.
I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion.
But I may not be able to even get out of bed to see you.
I'm sorry that I was a constant embarrassment to you when you were
growing up.

You see........when you were very little, you got into an accident, and
lost your eye.
As a mother, I couldn't stand watching you
having to grow up with one eye.
So I gave you mine.
I was so proud of my son who was seeing a whole new world for me, in my place, with that eye.

With all my love to you,
Your mother.

Such is the greatest sacrifice for the love of her own child. Love is beautiful, yet frigthening at time from the perspective of what one is willing to do and sacrifice. While the story tells of a child growing up, the same applies when one tries to give up whatever necessary just to ensure the love one remains happy. We sometimes only know how to take, and keep on taking at the expense of our love ones as in our daily routine, our daily lives. We may not realise this, but it is happening.

So, what do we do now? Always tell someone that you love that you love them because you never know what day will be their last, or your own.

Also, always seek to resolve your problems or disagreements with loved ones because if either of you should pass on before, the one who is left alive will have the rest of their life to ponder those unresolved feelings but will never find closure. And only with closure that one usually find peace.

Posted by
Ivan

Heart Attack - the oriental ways to prevention and recognition

Different culture has different way of behavior and habit in consuming their food. The Chinese for example, has for years stressed the preference for warm soup or drinks for their tea or plain water especially after eating the meal. Behind the practice, there has been various reasons and belief that drove them to adopt such practice.

However, such beliefs are now being held by the elders and perhaps some younger ones. But the majority of the younger generations have adopted and followed the western ways. The following advice, although not specifically stated to be from the Chinese, nevertheless offers one similar advice.

Prevent Heart Attacks by drinking warm water instead of cold water.

This is a very good article. Not only about the warm water after your meal, but about heart attacks. This makes sense.. the Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals...not cold water...maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!!

Nothing to lose, everything to gain...

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks: You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.

You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive...

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this mail sends it to 10 people, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life. Read this...It could save your life!!

~~~~~~
Well, there is no harm in knowing a little bit more. While this may not totally prevent one from suffering a heart attack, but it may well slow down the process. As the saying goes, prevention is better than cure.  So drink your cold drink not with your meal, but long before or after the meal.
Posted by
Ivan
Economy down- turn,  tips to  save money on petrol usage
The economy is bad, with almost all the big economies reporting an imminent recession or negative growth.  As a result, household income is affected and outlook is extremely bleak.  So every household needs to be vigilant in their expenditure. While petrol prices has dropped to around USD50 per barrel compared to about USD 150 barely 4 months ago,  prices of petrol as well as expenditure on petrol remains high to everyone on the street.
The following Tips on Filling up your Vehicles provides good advices on when and how to fill up your tank to maximise value.  So the next time round your car pull up at the petrol kiosk, do consider the following tips.
This is a Message received from a friend:
I don't know what you guys are paying for petrol... but here in Durban, we are also paying higher, up to 47.35 per litre. But my line of work is in petroleum for about 31 years now, so here are some tricks to get more of your money's worth for every litre.
Here at the Marian Hill Pipeline, where I work in Durban, we deliver about 4 million litres in a 24-hour period through the pipeline.
One day is diesel; the next day is jet fuel, and petrol, LRP and Unleaded. We have 34-storage tanks here with a total capacity of 16,800,000 litres.
ONLY BUY OR FILL UP YOUR CAR OR BIKKIE IN THE EARLY MORNING WHEN THE GROUND TEMPERATURE IS STILL COLD. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground, the denser the fuel, when it gets warmer petrol expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening.... your litre is not exactly a litre.
In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the petrol, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products play an important role. A 1 degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps.
WHEN YOU'RE FILLING UP, DO NOT SQUEEZE THE TRIGGER OF THE NOZZLE TO A FAST MODE. If you look, you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: Low, Middle, and High. In slow mode, you should be pumping on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapours that are created, while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapour return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapour. Those vapours are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money.
ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT TIPS IS TO FILL UP WHEN YOUR TANK IS HALF FULL. The reason for this is, the more fuel you have in your tank, the less air occupying its empty space. Petrol evaporates faster than you can imagine. Petroleum storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the petrol and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation.
Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated, so that every litre is actually the exact amount.
ANOTHER REMINDER, IF THERE IS A FUEL TRUCK PUMPING INTO THE STORAGE TANKS, WHEN YOU STOP TO BUY, DO NOT FILL UP - most likely the petrol/diesel is being stirred up as the fuel is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom.
Hope, this will help you get the maximum value for your money.
DO SHARE THESE TIPS WITH OTHERS! LET’S SHARE INFORMATION AND BENEFIT ALL, FOR THE BETTER OF MANKIND.
***********************
Well, you now know this. There is no harm in following this, just re-adjusting our habit of filling up the petrol tank.  Let's spread this round to maximise the dollar.
Posted by
Ivan
Treating Cancer -  Healing through the natural way of control diet
I find the following experience very relevant in today's world where many people are afflicted with cancer at some point in time.  For those that have the means and fortune to have it cured, I am happy for them.  But out of one that is successful in seeking the cure, I believe there are many others who have to learn to live the agony of the remaining days.    This came through the email, and I am not sure anyone  can attest to the validity and I must say that I cannot verify the truth in this.   But as this calls for only keeping a strict diet to avoid certain food,  I would encourage one to still follow the advice of his doctors, but perhaps to give serious consideration whether to follow the diet as stated, when all hope is lost.   The story is a bit long and more so with the chinese interpretations, but for the benefit of all,  I would reproduce them in full as follows;
Under weakly alkaline condition, cancerous cells will not  be able to grow, or even to survive.
在弱鹼性體質的狀態下，癌細胞是無法生長、甚至是無法生存的。
Actual case studies, very important, please read patiently  and pass this on.
實案例，很重要，請耐心看完，請轉寄哦！！
Even if you have read this before, you should reread this,  especially the list of acidic and alkaline food stuff , best  to read several time and remembered.
即使看過了還是要再看，尤其下面的酸鹼性食物最好多看幾次，就可以記住了
  Please read this article in full patiently, it will be   helpful to your health.
  請耐心看完這篇文章，對自身健康很有幫助
More that 30 years ago, a Mr Zhang who work in the public   sale department of a Taipei Brewery, participated in the   brewery overseas study selection examination, and passed   with flying colours.
  三十多年前有一位服務於公賣局台北啤酒廠的張先生，參加該啤酒場選派技術人員到國外深造的考試，以優異的成績及格。
  Before going overseas during the physical examination at a   public hospital, it was discovered that he has a tumour   growth in his lung of the size of a child's fist, and therefore was not able to go overseas to study.
  在出國前經某公立醫院體檢發現，罹患有像小孩拳頭大小的肺部腫瘤，因而不能出國。
  The greatly disappointed Mr Zhang has always been   suspicious that the diagnosis was  wrong. So he went to   another hospital for a check-up, the result confirm that previous diagnosis was not in error.
  張先生非常失望之餘，一直懷疑診斷有誤；於是再到另一家醫院檢查，結果還是證實原來的診斷並無錯誤。
  For the youthful and healthy Mr Zhang to be stricken down   with such terminal illness, in his despair, he rang his old   class mate who at the time was Taidong County Government,  Huangsun County Mayor's secretary, Mr Wei
  當時年輕力壯的張先生得到這樣的絕症，在人生絕望之餘，多次打電話給當時任職台東縣政府黃順興縣長機要秘書的魏姓同學。
  Mr Weil rushed to Taipei during his rest day on a Sunday to  see Mr Zhang.
  魏姓同學便利用星期日趕到台北和張先生見面，
  Mr Zhang discussed with Mr Wei in details his despair and  pessimism, and entrusted his friend regarding his affairs  after his death. Coincidentally, Mr Wei was a good friend of  Dr Lu Geling, who was in charge of the Maijie Hospital,  1945-55, and specialised in the clinical research into  cancer cases.
  張先生向魏同學詳述相關絕望的詳情和悲觀感受，並請位同學協助其後事，恰逢魏同學與前任馬偕醫院院長1949－55年專精於癌症臨床研究的呂革令博士係知交好友。
  He immediately suggested that Mr Zhang went and see Dr Lu  for treatment. At first, Mr Zhang said he preferred not to  see anymore doctors, so as to add further to his misery.
  當即建議前往訪求呂博士醫治，起初張先生說不願再看醫生，以免徒增傷悲；
  But Mr Wei told him that he had telephone Dr Lu before to  seek his advice and arrange an appointment. Mr Zhang felt  obligated and went with Mr Wei to meet Dr Lu.
  但魏同學說先前已以電話請教過呂博士並安排好時間，張先生只好偕同前往呂博士住處造訪。
  When Dr Lu met with Mr Zhang, Dr Lu said: " Mr Wei is  a friend and introduce you and I to get to know each other.  This is destiny. Thank you. Let me ask you do you know why  is cancer referred to as terminal illness?"
  呂博士和張先生見面就說：「魏先生是我的好友，介紹你和我認識是我們緣份，感謝。我請教你：『癌為什麼叫絕症，你可知道嗎？』」
  Both Mr Zhang and Mr Wei did not how to answer.
  張先生和魏先生都不知道如何作答。
  Dr Lu explained: "There are only two approaches taken  by human to treat cancer to date. The first is to destroy  the source of the disease. The second is the increase the capability to fight the disease.
  呂博士又說：「人類醫治癌症到目前為止只有兩條路，第一條路是消滅病源，第二條路是增加抵抗力。
  But the strange thing is that, cancer whether we use Cobalt  60 or other drug to destroy the cancer cells, however,  before the cancer cells are killed, the good cells are destroyed first.
  但很奇怪的是，癌無論用鈷60或其他藥物去消滅癌細胞，可是癌細胞還沒被消滅，好的細胞卻先被殺死。
  On the other hand, no matter we use what nutrients or  supplements, before the good cells have a chance to absorb  them, the cancer cells have taken them up and it simply speeds up the grow of cancer.
  另無論用什麼營養、補藥，好的細胞還未吸收，癌細胞卻先吸收、讓癌長得更快；
  Therefore both approaches are doomed to failure, that is  why cancer is terminal."
  因此可說上述兩條路都行不通、所以叫絕症。」
  Dr Lu continues: "Human being is most clever, they  have successfully landed on the moon. But why is it no one  ever question the above two approaches for treating cancer
  are nothing but self defeating dead-ends, try to seek out a  third avenue?
  呂博士又說：「人類的聰明連登陸月球也都已經成功，但為什麼沒有人去懷疑上述兩條治癌的路是在鑽牛角尖，另外找第三條路？
  When I was conducting clinical research in Majie  Hospital,  I had many opportunities to work with and being helped by  many colleagues in the Hospital. I discovered that the blood  tests of 100% of the cancer patients showed that the blood  sample are acidic.
  我以往在馬偕醫院做癌症临床實驗，並得院內各部同仁協助的機會，我發現癌症病人血液檢查的結果百分之百都是酸性反應。
  Those Buddhist monks and nuns who are long term vegetarians  and live very close to Nature, their blood are prevalently  weakly alkaline and amongst them, there has yet to discover  any cancer cases
  長期素食、且生活接近自然的佛寺僧尼，由於體質都偏屬優質弱鹼性，所以尚沒有發現罹患癌症的病例。
  Therefore, I boldly concluded that under weakly alkaline  condition, cancer cells are not able to grow, or even to  survive.
  因此我大膽的斷定在弱鹼性體質的狀態下，癌細胞是無法生長、甚至是無法生存的。
  Mr Zhang, I would suggest that starting from now you reduce  your intake of the acidic meaty dishes.
  張先生我建議你從現在起少吃酸性的葷食類，
  Take more of the alkaline food. In addition you can take  green algae and soup made from water chestnuts with shell,
  多吃鹼性食物，另外可吃綠藻和帶殼菱角湯，
  Modify your physical condition, and try seriously to have a  regular life style which is close to Nature;
  改變你的體質，並勵行接近自然的良好生活規律；
  If you can manage to stay alive for five years, you should  have no further problem. I wish you the best of luck."
  如果五年內不死、你就沒問題了，祝福你。」
  Mr Zhang follow Dr Lu's suggestion and seriously alter  his eating habits.
  張先生依照呂博士的建議，認真改變吃的習慣，
  Every day, he ate green algae, drank chestnut soup, be  optimistic and doing appropriate amount of exercise, and  went back to the same public hospital for a check up. It was discovered that not only that the tumour did not increase in  size, on the contrary it showed signs of shrinking, and  surprised the hospital staff conducting the check-up as a miracle. Five years later, the tumour s shrunk to such a  state as to be almost disappear.
  每天又吃綠藻、喝菱角湯，樂觀加上每天適當的運動，一年後再到同一公立醫院檢查結果，發現腫瘤不但沒有長大、反而已呈現萎縮狀態，遂令醫院檢查人員驚為奇蹟，五年後竟完全處於萎縮、至近於消失狀態。
  After almost 40 years, presently Mr Zhang's health is  totally normal, and living a very pleasant life.
  經過了將近四十年歲月，現在張先生的健康情況完全正常，生活起居甚為愉快。
  Following Mr Zhang, a Mr Chen Tianshou, who was previously  Head of the General Administration of the Taidong Provincial  Hospital, was similarly diagnosed with lung cancer.
  繼張先生之後，有位前台東省立醫院總務課長陳添壽先生，同樣得到肺癌；
  When Mr Wei heard of this, he told Mr Chen of the  experience of Mr Zhang, and Mr Chen started to follow the  instructions of Dr Lu to change his physical condition. The outcome was that he was able to recover fully from the  cancer, just like Mr Zhang.
  魏先生得知後將張先生的經過轉告陳添壽先生，陳先生乃依照呂博士的建議進行改變體質，結果與張先生同樣癒癌症。
  At that time, Mr Lu and his family have emigrated to the  United States. Why do we fall sick?  And why do we recover for most sickness, but not some.  Personally, I have learned and  believe that we fall sick when we have done something to bring disharmony to certain elements within our body. Only if we are fortunate enough to encounter something or perhaps someone who is destined to introduce something to restore the harmony of such elements within our body,  we will recover.  I hope this story is that good encounter to that person.  But I do caution - Never, never ignore your doctor's advice and medication - you should only try this in addition to your prescription. Hope this makes your day brighter.
Posted by
Ivan
Amazing Thailand Tigers  - Even animal Instinct can be tamed
The following story is Extraordinary as shown in the pictures.  Don't your think so?
The tiger temple in Thailand is a place where an extraordinary bond between man and the world's biggest cats has been formed.
The tigers here are so peaceful,..its almost as if they have accepted Buddhism as their religion.  In fact, they even sit for the meditating
sessions with the monks and kneel down in front of them as if  they are the gurus.  The tigers are so docile that the monks have to sometimes train them to fight otherwise they would lose all their power of self protection.
The link started in 1999 when a sick baby tiger, orphaned after poachers shot its mother, was brought to the monks. Within a few years several other tiger cubs similarly orphaned by poachers had arrived. The most amazing thing is non of the cubs turned out ferocious on growing up. The monks believer that these tigers are none other than the former Buddhist disciples who have taken rebirth in the same place.
We all thought that animal has its instinct, the animal instinct.  More so for the ferocious tiger, its instinct is to kill.
But as the picture shows, even the tiger instinct can be replaced with the human instinct, when nurture correctly and at an early stage.
Looking at the world today, all these senseless killings happening around the globe. More recently, the shocking Mumbai terrorists senseless killings of so many innocents. What has gone into the mind of such people? I am not sure how the minds of such grown-ups can be changed.  But certainly,  we can start from the young.  Only if the people around the world starts nurturing true compassions and true love for the sanctity of life and world peace, we will start seeing the peaceful nature that even the ferocious tigers can become.
Posted by
Ivan
When One is on Top of the World - who does one look towards for guidance
The following internet mail that I received probably came as a joke.  I think anyone can guess that this probably came from a golf enthusiast, cynical that perhaps we should abandon many things, and go and play golf.
I personally took up golf 17 years ago, and today, I am still far cry from my 24 stroke handicap.  Nevertheless, I think that joke aside,  there is an important lesson to learn from it.   Do read the following anecdote circulated in the web world.
In 1923, Who Was:
1. President of the largest steel company?
2. President of the largest gas company?
3. President of the New York Stock Exchange?
4. Greatest wheat speculator?
5. President of the Bank of International Settlement?
6. Great Bear of Wall Street?
These men were considered some of the world's most successful of their days.
Now, 80 years later, the history book asks us, if we know what ultimately became of them.
The Answers:
1. The president of the largest steel company.
Charles Schwab,
died a pauper.
2. The president of the largest gas company,
Edward Hopson,
went insane.
3. The president of the NYSE,
Richard Whitney,
was released from prison to die at home.
4. The greatest wheat speculator,
Arthur Cooger,
died abroad, penniless.
5. The president
of the Bank of International Settlement,
shot himself.
6. The Great Bear of Wall Street,
Cosabee Livermore,
also committed suicide
However, in that same year 1923,
the PGA Champion and the winner of the
most important golf tournament,
the US Open, was Gene Sarazen.
What became of him?
He played golf until he was 92,
died in 1999 at the age of 95.
He was financially secure
at the time of his death.
The Moral:
Abandon work,
Play golf.
While we all may envied these very people for their effort to make it to occupying such top stature assuming great power, position, reputation, happiness and success,  it is by no means small feat.  But what happened to all of them years later?  It it is not what one can attained that is important. I think equally important is to be able to sustain and persevere with whatever we have achieved and at least sustain it if we cannot move on to even greater heights.  No one can understand  the pain and agonies of such people unless one is in similar situation and it pains to see and know of the fate of such great people. One can only sympathize and hope that we do not fall into the same fate. Let us always be on guard.
Posted by
Ivan
Things Happened for a Reason - It's not what it seems
Many a times, we as human tend to view things from a very superficial angle. And we tend to intepret and hold a strong opinion in accordance with what we can see. I supposed there is nothing wrong with it except that some times when we hold such a strong view over such matters, and acts accordingly, we may not be fair to the other parties.
When I received this internet story, my initial reaction was yeah, so what. But on deeper reflection, I realise that there is a lot of truth and relevance to living out our own lives. When things and especially unfortunate incidents happened, what do we tend to do?
Let's first read the Internet Story that goes as follows;
(If you do not read Chinese, please bear with this and ignore the chinese characters)
THINGS ARE NOT ALWAYS WHAT THEY SEEM
有些事并不象它看上去那样
Two travelling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansion's guestroom. Instead the angels were given a small space in the cold basement. As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it. When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied, 'Things aren't always what they seem.'
两个旅行中的天使到一个富有的家庭借宿。这家人对他们并不友好，并且拒绝让他们在舒适的客人卧室过夜，而是在冰冷的地下室给他们找了一个角落。当他们铺床时，较老的天使发现墙上有一个洞，就顺手把它修补好了。年轻的天使问为什么，老天使答到：'有些事并不象它看上去那样。'
The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food they had the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good night's rest. When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field? The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel how could you have let this happen? The first man had everything, yet you helped him, she accused. The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and you let the cow die.
第二晚，两人又到了一个非常贫穷的农家借宿。主人夫妇俩对他们非常热情，把仅有的一点点食物拿出来款待客人，然后又让出自己的床铺给两个天使。第二天一早，两个天使发现农夫和他的妻子在哭泣--他们唯一的生活来源，一头奶牛死了。年轻的天使非常愤怒，他质问老天使为什么会这样，第一个家庭什么都有，老天使还帮助他们修补墙洞，第二个家庭尽管如此贫穷还是热情款待客人，而老天使却没有阻止奶牛的死亡。
'Things aren't always what they seem,' the older angel replied. 'When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall. Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn't find it.'
'有些事并不象它看上去那样。'老天使答道，'当我们在地下室过夜时，我从墙洞看到墙里面堆满了金块。因为主人被贪欲所迷惑，不愿意分享他的财富，所以我把墙洞填上了。
'Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed, the angel of death came for his wife. I gave him the cow instead. Things aren't always what they seem.'
'昨天晚上，死亡之神来召唤农夫的妻子，我让奶牛代替了她。所以有些事并不象它看上去那样。'
Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things don't turn out the way they should. If you have faith, you just need to trust that every outcome is always to your advantage. You might not know it until some time later....
有些时候事情的表面并不是它实际应该的样子。如果你有信念，你只需要坚信付出总会得到回报。你可能不会发现，直到后来…….
Some people come into our lives and quickly go…
有些人走进我们的生活然后很快就离开了…
oooO
( ) Some people
\ ( become friends and
\_) stay awhile....
leaving beautiful footprints on our hearts...
leaving beautiful footprints on our hearts....
有些人成为朋友并稍作停留… 在我们的心里留下美丽的足印。
Yesterday is history. 昨天是历史。
Tomorrow a mystery. 明天是一个谜。
Today is a gift. 今天是一个礼物。
That's why it's called the present!
因此它才被称为present! (present同时具有当前、目前和礼物的意思)
I think this life is special...live and savour every moment....
This is not a dress rehearsal!
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 144px; height: 190px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_NfqETK3OeUA/SSbOg5GuxgI/AAAAAAAAAFA/_xUIZ69c4PU/s200/angeljpeg.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5271127478363932162" />
TAKE THIS LITTLE ANGEL
AND KEEP HER CLOSE TO YOU
SHE IS YOUR GUARDIAN ANGEL
SENT TO WATCH OVER YOU
____
带着这个小天使，不要让她远离你。她是专门来照看你的守护天使
Now don't delete this message, because it comes from a very special angel.
不要删除此信息。
So what's the morale of the story. When unfortunate things befall us, we tend to interprete this as bad luck or omen. Unfortunately, we do not see it as a benefit. When we look back at the incident that occur years later, we come to realise that how much we have grown and progress. It is exactly because of the incident that has driven one to make effort and progress. Maybe one may lose a job today, but because of that, he may have moved on to a much better job and position later.
So let not any unfortunate incident depress you, but instead motivate you to a better tomorrow.
Posted by
Ivan
High Blood Cholesterol – control it the natural and herbal  way
High cholesterol is a common problem nowadays, with practically almost a major percentage of those in the 40s age bracket complaining about their cholesterol problem.  I am not sure whether this is brought about the better lifestyle that one enjoys as his lots improves along with better income and business contacts that brings with it so-called fine dining and wine couple with lack of time for exercise.  Such is the problem that comfort in life that can bring on a lot of health problem that the poor, hard-worker type will have less to combat with.
For the past 10 years,   I have been on medication to control my cholesterol level, and lucky enough,  I have this under control together with a supplement that comes from the guggul plant.  My cholesterol level is now below the threshold of 5.2 which I had trouble maintaining before I took on the guggul supplement.
Over the years,  I remember receiving this few times, and this again came into my inbox recently which I thought I should share with you.  Afterall, this is not a medication, but in fact , a delicacy that the Chinese common cook in their household.  The mail came with someone’s experience who I do not know, but like I said, as a Chinese delicacy,  the Mok Yee (black fungus) is available openly and cooked as meal in many Chinese home.
The mail came as follows;   Someone’s Experience
I want to share a secret for treating high cholesterol. Three weeks ago l went for a cholesterol check.  To my surprise, it was above the normal range which should be  less than 5.2 mmol/L.   My reading obtained was 6.6. I had been consuming alot of red meat and lamb recently. After consuming Mok Yee (black fungus) for two weeks, l had my cholesterol checked again and found that my cholesterol level fell to 4.70 mmol/L   My pharmacist said that even cholesterol medication will need 1- 3 months  to take effect. She was very surprised and said it is a miracle.
Review:   I immediately followed an advice of a friend who told me about Black fungus (Mok Yee).  He had four block heart arteries, over 90  percent blocked. His cardiologist advised him to go for bypass surgery, failing which he would suffer an imminent  heart attack. His sinseh ( chinese physician) friend advised him against surgery  as the procedure would be messy, painful and expensive.   He followed the advise of his sinseh friend by consuming Mok Yee (black fungus) daily. After consuming boiled Mok Yee juice for 40 days, he went for an angiogram. His heart specialist was surprised  and shocked   that his arteries were all cleared of any blockage and it would not be necessary to see him for another 10 years!   My observation is that Mok Yee juice is not only effective in treating high blood cholestrol but also helps  to bring relief to joint paints, arthritis and poor blood circulation.
The internet info. claims : that Mok yee reduces blood clot, preventing thrombosis,  atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease,and cancer.Black Fungus contains abundant protein, ferric, calcium, vitamin, rough fibre, the content of protein is equal to meat.
Preparation :
1) Pick a hand full of Mok Yee and soak in water for 1-2 hours
2) Wash Mok Yee and cut to pieces with scissors.
3) Pour five bowls of plain water into slow cooker (crock pot)
4) Put 2-3 slices of ginger, 8-10 red dates, 20 kay chee(wolf berry) into crockpot.
5) Bring to boil for 8 hours. One and a half bowls of Mok Yee juice will remain     after boiling overnight.
Consumption : You may consume for 10 to 14 days according to the severity of the problem.  For those with low blood pressure consume less or only for alternate days.   Drink Mok Yee first thing in the morning with an 'empty stomach'. Consume at least one large bowl. Take breakfast 2 hours later.
Side effects - you may feel a little tired after 3- 4 days. Consume multivitamins and fresh fruits and vegetables daily. Do not eat oily or fried foods during this period.
Observation : Dark and oily stool during the first two days.
Remarks : Cholesterol medication is chemical in nature and may harm the liver. Mok Yee is a plant and does not contain chemicals.
Take blood test for blood cholesterol before and after treatment  to see the results.
There it goes, I consume Mok Yee as a normal dish but do not know how effective as claimed. If you do try this, do keep me posted on the result.
Posted By
Ivan.
What This World Need Most - More Caring and Compassionate Thoughts and Consideration
A lot of time, the internet stories that I received are on jokes and sexist in nature.  This particular came to me last year, and when I received it,  I sort of just skimp through it without much serious thought.  The second time round when I re-read this, I must say that it move me to tears,  seeing how much of the world today that we are in are lacking of such qualities, much needed necessity.
The people we meet today, tend to be selfish, and thinks only of themselves, the gains.  Many of today’s ills and problems stemmed from such selfish thoughts and greed.
If we could just make it point to think of what we can do, to contribute and give something back to the family, the organization, the society, the country, then the world would be a much better place.
Spend the time, to read the following,  and hope that we can make the difference and bring some cheers and happiness firstly to those around us, and to others
Read This, The Story goes this way,
At a fundraising dinner for a school that serves learning-disabled children, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by all who attended.
After extolling the school & its dedicated staff, he offered a question: "When not interfered with by outside influences, everything nature does is done with perfection.
Yet my son Shay cannot learn things as other children do. He cannot understand things as other children do. Where is the natural order of things in my son?"
The audience was stilled by the query.
The father continued. "I believe that when a child like Shay, physically and mentally handicapped comes into the world, an opportunity to realize true human nature presents
itself, and it     comes in the way other people treat that child."
Then he told the following story:
Shay and his father had walked past a park where some boys Shay knew were playing baseball. Shay asked, "Do you think they'll let me play?" Shay's father knew that most of the boys would not want someone like Shay on their team, but the father also under- stood that if his son were allowed to play, it would give him a much-needed sense of
belonging and some confidence to be accepted by others in spite of his handicaps.
Shay's father approached one of the boys on the field and asked (not expecting much) if Shay could play. The boy looked around for guidance and said, "We're losing by six runs and the game is in the eighth inning. I guess he can be on our team and we'll
try to put him in to bat in the ninth inning."
Shay struggled over to the team's bench and, with a broad smile, put on a team shirt.  His Father watched with a small tear in his eye and warmth in his heart. The boys saw  the father's joy at his son being accepted.
In the bottom of the 8th inning, Shay's team scored a few runs
but was still behind by 3.  In the top of the 9 th inning, Shay put on a glove and played in the right field. Even though no hits came his way, he was obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field,
grinning from ear to ear as his father waved to him from the stands. In the bottom of the 9th inning, Shay's team scored again. Now, with 2 outs and bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and Shay was scheduled to be next at bat.
At this juncture, do they let Shay bat and give away their chance to win the game?  Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat. Everyone knew that a hit was all but impossible because Shay didn't even know how to hold the bat properly, much less connect with the ball.
However, as Shay stepped up to the plate, the pitcher, recognizing that the other team was putting winning aside for this moment in Shay's life, moved in a few steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least make contact. The 1st pitch came. Shay swung clumsily
and missed. The pitcher again took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards Shay.
As the pitch came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher.
The game would now be over. The pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the ball to the first baseman.  Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game.
Instead, the pitcher threw the ball right over the first baseman's head, out of reach of all team-mates. Everyone from the stands and   both teams started yelling, "Shay, run to  1st! Run to 1st!"
Never in his life had Shay ever run that far, but he made it to first base.
He scampered down the baseline, wide-eyed and startled.  Everyone yelled, "Run to 2nd, run to 2nd!" Catching his breath, Shay awkwardly ran towards second, gleaming and struggling to make it to the base. By the time Shay rounded towards 2nd base, the right fielder had the ball .. the smallest guy on their team who now had his 1st chance to be the hero for his team. He could have thrown the ball to the 2nd-baseman for the tag, but he understood the pitcher's intentions so he, too, intentionally threw the ball high and far over the 3rd-baseman's head. Shay ran toward 3rd base deliriously as the runners ahead of him circled the bases toward home.
All were screaming, "Shay, Shay, Shay, all the Way Shay"
Shay reached third base because the opposing shortstop ran to help him by turning him in the direction of third base, and shouted, "Run to third! Shay, run to third!"
As Shay rounded third, the boys from both teams, and the spectators, were on their feet screaming, "Shay, run home! Run home!" Shay ran to home, stepped on the plate, and was cheered as the hero who hit the grand slam and won the game for his team.
"That day", said the father softly with tears now rolling down his face, "the boys from both teams helped bring a piece of true love and humanity into this world".
Shay didn't make it to another summer. He died that winter, having never forgotten being the hero and making his father so happy, and coming home and seeing his Mother tearfully embrace her little hero of the day!
AND NOW A LITTLE FOOTNOTE TO THIS STORY:
We all send thousands of jokes through the e-mail without a second thought, but when it
comes to sending messages about life choices, people hesitate. The crude, vulgar, and
often obscene pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion about decency is
too often suppressed in our schools and workplaces.
This is indeed touching,  and I believe we, each individually can make a difference, maybe not to ourselves but at least to others. There are thousands of opportunities every single day to help realize the "natural order of things." So many seemingly trivial interactions between two person,  do we then pass along a little spark of love and humanity or do we pass up those opportunities and leave the world a little bit colder in the process?
A wise man once said every society is judged by how it treats it's least fortunate amongst them.
Hope you like this story.
Posted by
Ivan
It is Never Enough - Always Striving For More
Greetings to You, and welcome to this site – AboutInternetStories. As the blog name suggests, this is the Blog to share about stories, articles and jokes that one normally gets from the internet. Over the last few years, the author has come across numerous and in fact his email have been flooded with tremendous numbers of stories, articles and jokes. And I can say that while many of them are horrible and unpleasant, many are indeed interesting and should propagated to generate more awareness, not so much about the jokes, but to serve as a learning lesson..
Many of such articles deserves to be disseminated further to create the awareness as these help us to be better prepared when it happens to us someday, .. and many others can at least create some laughter.
The following articles came to me some time back, but it does carry a good learning lesson. Let’s see this first.
Let Not your hearts be troubled !
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_NfqETK3OeUA/SPjPxvEmSbI/AAAAAAAAAAU/7IFedUDGjNE/s320/jokepeaceofmind.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5258181018311346610" />
PEACE OF MIND
If you were to ask your neighbor,
"What would give you peace of mind?" he might tell you,
"A vacation in Bermuda!" or
"An extra hundred grand would give me peace!", or
"A new Ferrari would make me content!"
But going places - and getting stuff - is usually a temporary solution ...
Peace of mind rarely comes from getting more stuff.
Getting more stuff usually leads to wanting even more stuff!
Peace of mind starts with being grateful for what we have right now.
GRATITUDE is POWER
When we are thankful for what we have - for the friends we have, and for the things we've got, we attract more good people and good things!
People who always complain about what they DON'T HAVE, stay stuck. Complainers attract more things to complain about!
It is a law of life. It's hard to explain, but you can observe it around you. We get more of what we dwell upon.
That's why all the spiritual masters have taught the same lesson ...
"Start by being thankful. Be happy with what you have now, and
The lesson here is that while we achieved something, it is never enough. Our thoughts, desires and actions says that the grass over the fence is always greener. We have something at the expense of some other thing. Taken to the extreme, we no longer value what we have, we ignore them, we despise them, we do not appreciate them and neglected them.
